Our time is indeed changed. What used to be the valuable P10 that could buy a basis commodity years ago is a mere coin, loose change. Indeed, tough times call for some belt-tightening. For practical consumers, there are creative ways to stretch that P10 coin. Here are some ways to beat the peso crunch:

* Take public transport. Your P10 can get you to a particular destination. Not enough, you say? Pay the distance good for P10 and walk the rest of the way. Great exercise, too.

* Create romance worth P10. Yes, you can! share a bottle of soda. You’ll treasure a priceless moment with your significant other.

* Eat street food. A fun way to spend your P10 is yummy fish balls.

* Bite your way to good health. An apple a day keep the doctor away. A nice crisp, juice apple only cost P10.

* Try your hand at the game arcade. Play those zapping machines for a chance to take home a cuddly stuffed toy. Your P10 get you three chances.

* Rummage through a garage sale. You’ll never believe the treasures your can find and buy with that P10-from accessories to toys, trinkets, and books, too.

* Buy some candies and share them with your best friend. Memories are sweet moments, no matter the cost.

Yesterday, it was finally proclaimed that Noynoy Aquino is now the new president of the Republic of the Philippines. I was glad with the results. His family and friends were all there to witness and share that very moment with him. I have also seen some showbiz friends of Noynoy like Ogie Alcasid, Dindong Dantes, Ceasar Montano and Boy Abunda. We have heard rumors about this people taking part to be a part of his cabinet. Boy Abunda as the Secretary of Tourism and also A position for Mr. Dindong Dantes.

I am not very much amzed about this matter. I mean there are a lot of deserving people for this said position. I hope Mr. President is really having the right choices. I think I would just have to wish him all the luck.

Get the egg-white and mix it with lemon(medium size). Put it evenly in to your scalp and leave it for an hour then rinse. After that, rinse it again using a mixture of cider vinegar in water. This would help you to get rid of itchy dandruff.

I am now on my last semester and soon to graduate this October. I am kind of nervous and excited at the same time since I am about to receive my longed for diploma. Whenever I think about my past college years, I realized how patient I am. I am taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, and this November, I am planning to have my review class for six months in Baguio City. Another six months of studying for my preparation for the CPA Board Examination. I have known that 19% percent of those who took the exam in our school this year passed. The result is not that satisfactory but we are all very thankful that we have passers. The exam is not that easy compared to other board examination that is why right now, I am starting to go from the very start to understand everything about my course. And I am hoping and praying that I could pass the exam next year. My fingers are crossed.

These past few days, I have observed that our weather was very unpredictable. When I woke up this morning, it was kind of cloudy and now it was so hot! And just two days ago, I woke up in my afternoon nap and found out that it was raining. I am very sure that in no time, rainy season will soon be here. I don’t like rain that much; I think it is very messy when it’s raining. When I was a student, I was really having a hard time going to school especially when there’s a storm and classes were not yet suspended.

What I am doing now is getting our house repaired for our preparation for upcoming storms because the news said that there will be stronger storms and typhoons compared last year. I just want to be ready as early as possible so advice to everyone to do the same thing.

The one thing that I am proud of about being a Filipino is our rich culture. We have a lot of culture here in our country, and most of it was inherited to other foreign countries. Aside from our culture, the thing that makes us definitely unique among other countries is our means of transportation.

Here in the Philippines, we use different kinds of transportation like cars, bus, bikes, motorbikes, tricycle and the most popular is the king of the road, the jeepney. The jeepney here in the Philippines can accommodate up to 16 to 18 passengers. Isn’t it amazing that a small vehicle can accommodate that much? Well, it’s only here in the Philippines.

Not only is the jeepney a very convenient way to travel, but also a very enjoyable one. In Manila, they have the what they call “jeep na patok”. This jeepney is definitely very unique among the other jeepneys in Metro Manila since they are the only ones who have large speakers and their speed is very fast. The passengers will surely have mixed emotions if they chose to ride on that kind of jeepney. In some parts of the country particularly in Olongapo City, their jeepneys are color coded. It’s not only pleasing to the eyes but also very convenient to motorist, passengers and for all of the people in the city since their everyday transportation is very organized. Some countries also have their jeepney but not as good as we have here in the Philippines.

If we have concern about the betterment of our town, we should keep our public market clean and organize because this is where we buy almost every food that we eat. Don’t let garbage be everywhere because they can contaminate the raw foods near them. Just like what we have seen yesterday, the place where they sell “ICE” is just 3 steps away from the place where they dispose their garbage and it really smelled so awful! So imagine those people buying their ice to put on their drinks and selling it to other people. And not to mention, the ice is just on the floor.

I think it is not only the local government’s responsibility to keep our public markets clean, it is the people that are primarily liable on keeping it organized. Those rules and regulations imposed are useless if we don’t follow them. We should remember that what we see around us reflects who we really are.

Reading is one of the basic tools in the living of a good life. We can learn almost everything we are fond of reading. It can widen our knowledge and can give us information necessary to make us aware of about everything. There are a lot of things to be read. We have books, broadsheets, magazines, tabloids, advertisements, brochures and a lot more.

For us to feel most beautifully alive means to be reading something beautiful. There are reading materials that we need to avoid, those materials that can give us undesirable and misleading information. We have to be careful in choosing our reading materials, especially when we want the best facts about something. According to Francis Bacon, “some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books are to be read only parts, others to be read, but not curiously, and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention.” So if you want to become the best person you have never been, start reading.

.

Amidst our busy lives, we should always find time for some things that really needs attention. Just like our chores, checking our emails, cleaning our rooms, changing our sheets and maybe getting our clothes repaired. Yes you read it right, repairing our clothes.

Have you ever noticed some of your clothes having a little bit of damage or a little ripped off? These little damages may not be that noticing but we should not take them for granted. From the time that we have noticed them, we should immediately sew them so to keep our clothes free from “holes”, well if you know what I mean.

Repairs are not only for damages, you could also repair clothes that are out of style. These could give your clothes a new look, and for me it is also a form of recycling.

Clothes are one of our basic needs. It gives our body protection from the weather outside and gives cover to the different parts of our body that needs to be hidden. We also have to have set of clothes that are appropriate to different seasons and occasions.

Some people invest so much when it comes to their clothes; they even buy too expensive clothes. But what is expensive clothing if you don’t know how to take care of it? Here are some tips to keep your clothes always at shape.

Make sure to have a clean and spacious cabinet to have your clothes put on to keep them away from dirt.

Have a laundry basket to put on your dirty clothes to avoid exposure from more germs.

When you laundry your clothes, use detergent soap or powder with mild content to prevent the fabric from thinning.

Always separate the colored clothes to the white ones to avoid mixing of colors.

Clothes that are need to be hand wash should be hand wash to preserve the fabric. Just like the underwear sang some clothes with delicate fabric.

Don’t forget to use fabric conditioner, this can help to soften the fabric and will minimize the use of flat iron.

After washing your clothes, make it sure not to expose it to direct sunlight. Have it dry outside under a shade. Let the wind the dry clothes, exposure from the sun makes the color of the clothes lighter than the original color.

When the clothes are dry, fold it properly and iron those clothes that need to be ironed.

These are just the basic steps to preserve your clothes and to make its’ life long lasting and long wearing.
